24 weeks...Progress!

Well, we have been busy painting and daycare shopping. Meanwhile, the belly keeps growing. I am still having a hard time calling it "the baby's room" and still say that we painted the guest room :) This, however, pleases my dad, who is also having a hard time dealing with the fact that he will be losing his room! We picked some nice browns for the bedroom and bathroom and had to buy fancy no-VOC paint so that I could paint while pregnant. It is nice to have that done!

Here is the art that I made for the baby's room. They are in big 16 x 20 frames.

This morning we toured 5 daycare centers near our house. While they all seems nice, we are down to deciding between 2 of them. I will try to take 4 months off, through May, and then my mom might come down for the month of June, so we wouldn't have to start daycare until July. I would be happy to send her off to daycare a little older (and maybe save up a little for the expensive bill!).

Paul thought we really needed this today...probably after the sticker shock of daycare!

Here is a cute boppy from my mom...

Belly at 24 weeks...

Next Friday is our 24 week appointment with the doctor. We are hoping everything is going well. We may have more to report then!

22 weeks...Reality is setting in!

Hmmmm...I'm beginning to think that this baby thing is really going to happen! She (which I still refer to as "it" by habit) is starting to move more. Paul has been able to feel a few more wiggles. He admitted today that he wants to feel her moving more. Previously he would assure me to be patient, that she will move more when she is ready, but now is hooked and wants to feel some more action! I feel the most movement in the evenings when I am sitting on the couch. I think I am up and moving around so much during the day, that I don't feel much then. I emailed my Doctor last week to see if the 20 week ultrasound results had been officially read by the radiologist. She replied right away and said everything looked great! She attached the report, and my favorite line read, "Fetal size compatible with dates. No anatomic abnormalities identified." I have read that line over and over. My next visit is on October 22nd, just before my 25th week. Hopefully everything stays on target!

We have decided that soon we will have to start looking into daycares. The tour circuit will begin in a couple of weeks. We feel lucky that we are surrounded by so many options, however, after seeing some of the prices, we are beginning to also get a glimpse into a VERY big lifestyle change in the near future! We are also going to paint the guest room/baby's room over the next few weekends. It will just be a nice brown/tan. I'm not really into themes, just simple. It will be accented with pinks. But, for now, that is all I have thought about. We have started to look at cribs. Below is the one that we like most most so far...

This baby truly better come out a girl, or we are in big trouble. She already has a very nice start to her wardrobe!

Couldn't pass these up...

And these, compliments of Miss Beth...seriously??? Won't they look perfect with the wool pea coat?! :)

Fun (and fitting) bibs from Ben & Danielle...

And by request from Grandma Mikolaj...the current belly profile pic. Let's hope genetics play their part, and like my mom, just the belly continues to grow straight out!

We are now being asked what we will name her. And we don't really have a good answer for you. For now she is called "Little T" or (more rarely now) "T Hawk," and I will enlighten you with how this came to be. Paul and I planned to go to Chicago to spend Memorial weekend with Adam. We had big plans to drink a lot of new fun beer, and Adam had been stocking up on new beers to try for weeks prior to our arrival. I was feeling unusually tired the week we were to leave. Low and behold, I found out I was pregnant two days before we left. We waited until we arrived in Chicago to break the news to Adam. No beer drinking for me :( This, however, did not stop Paul and Adam. Well into the first evening (and well into beer tasting), Adam decided to bring out his beer hops chart. He had just started growing hops and thought this would be a perfect way to name baby Mikolaj. So, after listing off the names of every hop you could possibly grow, Adam decided our child would be named Zeus Tomahawk Mikolaj, or T Hawk for short. Can you guess how I replied to this suggestion? Well, "T Hawk" stuck, which quickly turned into "Little T." And since baby Mikolaj was just 5 weeks along, this is the name we have used for her.

That's all we have for now. I'm sure there will be more pink items to share soon!
