4 months....really?!?!?

I am not sure how our little Ellie Kate is 4 months old! They say time flies, and it is true. We have been busy the last 2 months. When we last left off, Ellie was 10 weeks old and still in our room in her bassinet. She moved to her room at 10 weeks and did great! She started sleeping through the night fairly consistently at 12 weeks old...amazing! Occasionally she will wake up to eat, but does go right back to sleep. Several weeks ago, we realized the need to put her to bed earlier. She was taking a late nap and going to bed between 9 & 10, but was so over-tired that she would cry and cry. She now is in bed between 7:30 and 8:00, fusses a few minutes and then puts herself right to sleep...again, amazing! She sleeps until about 7 am.

Raise your hand if you slept through the night!! First time she did it :)

Ellie is still struggling with reflux, although she is doing so much better the past couple weeks as we found the right dose & frequency of medicine. She is finally more tolerant of her car seat, however she still has random meltdowns in the car. So, it only seemed right to stick her in the car for a 4 hour road trip! We drove to Casper to meet my parents and see my grandparents the middle of April. She pretty much cried for 3 and a half hours straight, but she did sleep the whole time on the return trip. It was nice to see my grandparents.

The following weekend my parents were here for Easter. We had a nice relaxing weekend.

Not spoiled AT ALL!!! :)

Shopping with G-dogg (note the burp cloth in the back pocket!)

Happy Easter :)

This is what happens when dad is in charge!

Ready for more shopping with grandma.

I am not sure what else we have been up to. There have been lots of shopping trips. Lots of smiles, and now giggles! You have to work hard at it, but she will give up some SUPER cute giggles now and again. I can't wait for more of this!! She has also found her voice and her tongue! No more quiet baby :) Will post links below to a few videos of these cute things.

Paul's dad came to visit for a weekend on his way to a conference. Fun to see Pap!

Cheers!

Sweet cheeks :)

Snuggles with mom

Bring on the food!

They won't let me buy anything at the mall :(

Still too little for the exersaucer, but she likes it!

Here is a picture of Ellie wearing an outfit that I had my pictures taken in at 3 months!

Here I am...wonder where she got those cheeks?!?!

Sadly, I returned to work last week :( I just did two days. Ellie stayed with Paul the first day, so it was pretty easy to leave. Then she stayed with our friend Dawn for a half day and apparently did great! She is with Paul for three days this week, and then my parents come this weekend, and my mom is going to stay with us for the month of June to watch her. My dad will stay the first and last weeks to play, too. She will not be spoiled at all!!! It will be nice to be at work and know that she is getting those sweet big cheeks kissed all day long!

Today we took Ellie for her 4 month check up. She is 14.2 pounds (58th percenitle) 24 inches long (36th percentile)and her not so little head is in the 60th percentile (must mean big brains)! Everything else looked good. Healthy baby!! She got the okay to start cereal, so we will try that this weekend! This should be a fun adventure and we should have some good pictures and video. She had to get 3 shots and one oral vaccine. Poor baby! She screamed while she was getting them, but recovered pretty quickly, thankfully!

Sad!

2 months old!!

Well, actually 10 weeks tomorrow! Things are going pretty well. Ellie is in a fairly consistent eat-play-sleep routine. She is fussy at the end of the day, of course right when Paul gets home (poor guy) as she is still not the best napper, and takes pretty short naps during the day. She will now sleep a 5-6 hour stretch at night...too bad I can't seem to get that too! She is usually up at 4:30 and 7-ish. Our next big goal in the coming days is to put her in her room and out of the bassinet in ours! I think I will sleep much better, anyway. It has been challenging trying to get out of the house as Ellie HATES the car seat, which means she currently hates the car and stroller rides. I SO hope she grows out of this soon, as I am going nuts in the house, but have high anxiety about leaving due to the SCREAMING! When she is not screaming, she is still pretty cute...

Cute overalls!

Happy St. Patricks Day - 6 weeks

Here's Ellie's first boyfriend Gavin. He is 4 weeks older than she is. They have had many play "dates" already - usually once a week!

Of course Abby takes such good care of her, and wants to help with everything. She's a good little mommy.

We have also had a few play dates with my friend Jenny and her cute little Alex.

Ellie started smiling at us (not just in her sleep or when she has gas) at about the 6 week old mark. There is nothing more rewarding than that sweet smile! It is what gets me through those 6 and 7 o'clock mornings, when all I want to do is sleep! She is also so interested in looking at things now, and loves to play in her gym...that is, when we can get Ally and Porter out of the gym!

This was the first big smile we caught on camera!

A rare moment smiling in her car seat...probably because I was about to take her out!

Playing in the gym!

Tummy time - Ellie and Porter were both interesting in the ball toy.

Sweet sleepy face...this girl loves her binky!

Tolerating another hair bow...gotta look cute for Gavin :)

Me and the little peanut - sadly, her nick name has become "nut" - I'm sure she will love that later!

More snuggles

Chillin' with dad

Before losing her mind on a walk - she sure is cute in there when she is not screaming!

Trying another walk on our 84 degree April day...a little warm in the outfit, but maybe that is why she actually slept on this walk :)

"MOM!!!! I told you NOT to put this picture on the internet!"

A few new toys that I love using at work, so figured Ellie needed them at home. Nothing like product testing every day, and knowing which toys NOT to get for home!

My "Ellie" necklace I got from Beth and Stacey at my shower, now complete with her garnet birth stone.

Ellie had her 2 month old check up today. We actually took her to the doctor last week, too, because she was very snotty and congested, but luckily her ears and her lungs were clear. I had also been concerned about her having reflux, and we are trying some Zantac to see if that helps. She had to get 3 shots and an oral one. It was awful! She cried new cries we had never heard before :( Then she ate and fell asleep. She has really chunked up! She went from the the 9th percentile at 2 weeks to the 59th percentile today at 11.9 pounds. She was 23 inches long. She goes back at 4 months. For now she continues to sleep sounds, and Paul and I are drinking :) I hope she sleeps well tonight! We will post more pictures shortly!!

6 weeks old...more "firsts" and more grandparents!

Six weeks...crazy! Some aspects have gone fast, others not so much :) It has definitely been an adjustment period. But, luckily for us, Ellie Kate is such a good little baby. She usually cries only when she is hungry and is fussy if she is tired. She is pretty easy to soothe, and although she still wakes up a couple of times at night to eat, she goes right back to sleep. Like her mama, however, she fights sleep, and is not the best napper during that day. This week, Ellie has started to smile at us and smile/coo when she is playing...not just when she has gas or is going to sleep! It is soooo fun. We caught this great photo while playing on the floor at Paul's office...

Mark and Ginny came out to spend the week with us. It was so fun to see Ellie with her other grandparents...wow, is she going to be spoiled!! I think that Mark is finally convinced he has a grandDAUGHTER! We made sure to change her diaper in his presence so he knew it truly was a girl. I was very lucky to have help for another week, and even got out a couple of times by myself! We went out to dinner a few time, and Ellie attend her first happy hour at the Yard House.

We are excited to be headed to Pittsburgh in July. It will be fun to show Ellie off to Paul's family. It will be Ellie's first plane ride...I am already having anxiety about it!!

We have had exceptionally warm weather the last couple of weeks, and have been able to get out side. Ellie likes the stroller for the most part, but gets very mad if you stop to chat with anyone for longer than a minute. It is still a little chilly, so it is a good thing she has SOOO many hats...here are a few of them :)

Other than just a lot of cuteness, there is not much else going on. We will update with more cute photos soon!
